From a family business to a career in accounting.
Growing up on a farm in Upstate New York, Melinda saw how much small businesses matter to a community. Her family ran a tractor repair and restoration business that supported local farmers and helped keep their operations moving.
By her early teen years, she was learning the essentials of bookkeeping in the family office—handling accounts payable and accounts receivable using Intuit QuickBooks. College and her first office job outside the family business added more hands-on accounting experience.
Over the years, Melinda has worked with businesses of varied sizes, including private and public accounting environments. That background gives her a broad perspective without losing sight of the day-to-day reality of a small-business owner.
After moving around the country with her husband, Matt, Melinda now calls the Greater Tri-Cities—Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland in Eastern Washington—home. Fayette Solutions serves local businesses and clients nationwide.
